FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Devereaux Smith ANN GETTY SUPPORTS RED CROSS EFFORTS WITH
To commemorate its 30th Anniversary, the Show House is featuring a Celebrity Lecture series, with design leaders Mario Buatta, Ann Getty, Sabina Fay Braxton, Jeffery Smith and Miquel Flores-Vianna. The lecture series occurs on January 12, 13 and 14. The Show House itself, open to the public with general admission of $25.00, runs from January 12 through February 4, 2006. This year’s Show House was built in 1925 by Spencer Lainhart and designed by architects Harvey & Clark, famous for their designs of the Palm Beach Town Hall, Holy Trinity Church, Seaboard Train Station and the Comeau Building. Florida attorneys, Steve Mayans and Terry Resk, own the home today. “I’m proud to be part of this important effort,” says Ann Getty. “This is an excellent way for the design community to support the broad reaching and necessary programs of the Red Cross”. Ann Getty formalized her life long love of interior design in 1995 with the formation of Ann Getty and Associates, a residential and commercial design firm headquartered in San Francisco, California. In 2003, after years of creating custom pieces for her clients, Mrs. Getty launched the Ann Getty House Collection, a line of antique reproduction furnishings, with over forty five pieces representing craftsmanship from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The Collection also features accessories, including hand picked porcelain vases, antique textile pillows and fine art pieces. While her furnishings are available in showrooms around the country, she is pleased to be represented in Florida by J Nelson. “I love the passion and energy Michael Kirkland and John Nelson bring to my business ventures. They have an excellent aesthetic for the beauty of the crafts, both textiles and furnishings, from my favorite periods in design”. Mr. Kirkland and Mr. Nelson include a piece from her Collection in their Gentlemen’s Reading Rom as designed in the Red Cross Show House. The Ann Getty House Collection has been featured in numerous national publications, including Architectural Digest, Town & Country, House & Garden and C Magazine.
